ILARIA FIORENTINI - Foundation Year Director
Ilaria Fiorentini teaches Sociolinguistics and Pragmatics and Text Linguistics at the University of Pavia. Her main research interests include minority languages, language contact, discourse markers, multilingualism in school contexts and online languages; she has published several papers on these topics both in Italian and international scientific journals. She is the author of “Segnali di contatto. Italiano e ladino nelle valli del Trentino-Alto Adige” (FrancoAngeli, Milan, 2017) and “Sociolinguistica delle minoranze in Italia. Un’introduzione” (Carocci, Rome, 2022).
ELENA VOLTAN
After a Master’s degree in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Pavia, Elena Voltan obtained a M.A. in Teaching and Promoting Italian language and culture to foreigners and a Certification in Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Over the past ten years she has been teaching Italian as a second language in different educational contexts, but mainly to university international students. At the University of Pavia she has been teaching Italian in international exchange programs, such as in Study Abroad, Marco Polo Turandot and Foundation Year Programs. At the moment she is also the Teaching Coordinator of the Foundation Year Program. She has been involved in research projects dealing with Language Acquisition, Language Testing and CLIL-Content and Language Integrated Learning, and on these topics she published and presented studies at international conferences.
NORA TAKROURI TAMIMI - tutor
Graduated in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Pavia, Nora has been working for the Foundation Year program for four years. Currently, she deals with all kinds of logistical issues students may meet, also favouring their integration process both in Italy and in the university system of Pavia. She has also worked at the Welcome Point Office of the University of Pavia for 7 years.
OLENA FILIPPOVA - tutor
Mrs Filippova graduated in Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Pavia and is now pursuing her studies in European and American Literature. Olena supports students in their day to day life and also helps with administrative issues. She is a native Russian speaker and also speaks English, Italian and Ukrainian.
