What’s new for 2027/2028?
1) B1 level of Italian is required by june 30th 2027 for admission, only for students who require a visa to enter Italy
2) The Foundation Year programme is designed to help students progress from B1 to B2 level in Italian by the end of the academic year.
3) The Foundation Year includes:
- 200 hours of Italian language and culture courses, from October 2027 to June 2028
- 400 hours of courses taught entirely in Italian in one study area chosen by the student
- Four study areas:
Humanities, Science and Medicine, Social Sciences, and the NEW Musicology area
Foundation Year Format: full-time, in person
Programme period: October 2027 – June 2028
Tuition fee: €5,000, payable in three instalments
Do you need a Visa and don’t have a B1 level yet?
You can start your pathway with our Preparatory B1 Italian Language Course, designed for students who currently have an A2 level of Italian.
Preparatory B1 Italian Language Course includes:
Online live classes via Zoom
50 hours
Course fee: €500 non-refundable
Classes are held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Winter session 9 November 2026 – 31 January 2027
How to apply for Preparatory B1 Italian Language Course
You can apply for the Preparatory B1 Italian Language Course directly within your Foundation Year application. When completing the application form, simply select the option indicating that you wish to enrol in the Preparatory B1 course. No separate application is required.
You may apply to the Foundation Year conditionally while completing your B1 preparation. Your admission will be confirmed once you successfully meet the B1 requirement.
